STEP 10  | Previous Step

Once the decision is rendered, the defendant only has the right to appeal. He/she has 30 days from the date of mailing of the Decision within which to appeal the Judge’s Decision.

The plaintiff cannot enforce any Judgment during that period of time.

If the Judge rules in your favor, you will move to collect the “Judgment”. Once the defendant (Judgment Debtor) has paid the judgment, you MUST file an “Acknowledgment of Satisfaction of Judgment” with the court immediately to let the court know that the judgment debtor has met his/her obligation. If you do not do this, you may be held responsible for all damages sustained by the debtor, his/her grantees or heirs by reason of such failure.
