The court clerk will add a court case number and a date for the hearing of your claim before a Judge/Commissioner. If the defendant in the action lives in the county, the court date will be set 30 - 35 days in the future.

If the defendant lives out of the county, the court date will be set 60 - 65 days into the future.

The original form will be stamped “Filed” and the copies will be stamped “File Endorsed”.

The original will be kept for the court file.

The copies are returned to you. One is for your file, the others are for the defendant(s). If you need more copies, you may photocopy as many copies of the paperwork as you need.
