You will arrive at the court on the day of your hearing. There are courtrooms at several locations, so it is important that you check your paperwork for the address of the courtroom where you are to appear. THERE ARE NO ATTORNEYS ALLOWED FOR EITHER PARTY AT A SMALL CLAIMS HEARING.

There will be a Judge, a clerk and a bailiff present at your hearing. There are no court reporters at a small claims hearing.

Each side will present their side of the incident. The Judge then either renders his/her decision from the Bench or takes your matter under submission.

If he/she renders a Decision from the Bench, a formal notice of that Decision will either be handed to the parties or mailed to them shortly after the hearing.

If your matter is taken under submission, you will receive the Decision by mail.
