The Criminal Division is the record holding department for criminal complaints.

The duties of the criminal division clerk’s office include directing the public to the correct courtroom, preparing daily court calendars, preparing files for court, preparing criminal record research, filing paperwork, including motions, petitions, declarations, search warrants, orders, and writs.

The criminal department is also responsible for doing research for INS Citizenship.

The criminal division works closely with many of the other courthouse departments, including the Accounting Department, the District Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office, the Jail and the Probation Department.

They also work closely with outside agencies, including the Department of Justice and Department of Motor Vehicles, and programs such as the Sonoma County Drinking Driver Program, Project Intercept, etc.,
